The Cove House Boathouse is a stand-alone addition designed to provide swimming shade, boat storage, and sauna access to the main house. It’s exterior form incorporates the traditional massing of Cove House, with carved out sinuous spaces to address the pool and landscape.  

Open air steps adjacent to the boathouse lead down to the sauna entrance, nestled within the lush landscape. The sauna is organic in its shape to mimic the curves of the adjacent body of water, made from natural materials that blend the line between built and landscaped environment.

On the ground level, the canopy of the sauna covers a carved out seating area and boat house storage that represent the flow of water. The boathouse is accessed from the main house via a winding boardwalk path that continues past the structure to terminate at an integrated hot tub and cove lookout point beyond.
