Chappy Road House is a well-loved beach front bungalow that was in need of updating for the next generation. A long-time family home on the iconic Chappaquiddick shore front, this house is a truly special property. MTA was able to open up the house to the ocean views, while maximizing light & space for the family to grow and spend time together. The form of the house remained largely unchanged as a classic beach cottage style structure, while thoughtful additions such as the sweeping north facing sliders and shed dormers opened up a show stopping ocean view & more modern character.

Through creative planning & partition changes, each bedroom was designed with an en-suite bath, which allows for flexible hosting of family and friends. The entire house also received new insulation, finishes, and an infrared heating system which allows the family to spend more time on the island during shoulder seasons & the colder months. Upgraded amenities, including a new sauna, cedar hot tub, winterized outdoor shower, and expanded screened-in porch, create an inviting flow of indoor/outdoor living.
